Recovering & conveying the sludge
FILTRATEC sees itself as being a full-service provider – starting with the tasks of extracting and conveying the sludge. FILTRATEC deploys a variety of high-performance machinery to move the sludge and always selects the equipment that best suits the storage facilities, the quality of the sludge and the required transport routes. Just one example: FILTRATEC also operates floating suction excavators – called the SAUGULATOR® – which can extract sludge from below the water. The sediment is detached with cutting tools and transported to the processing unit via pressurised floating delivery line.
Pre-treatment
If required, the sludge first undergoes various chemical-physical pre-treatment stages. These are based on the treatment instructions drawn up by our laboratory before the work begins.
Removal of large pieces of material & other contaminants
Decontamination work, e.g. to remove cyanide, chromium VI, hydrogen sulphide
Flocculation & precipitation, e.g. to remove heavy metals
Pre-thickening
Neutralisation of acids & lye
Conditioning & homogenisation
Dewatering
FILTRATEC Mobile Schlammentwässerung GmbH uses a whole range of modern equipment including chamber and membrane filter presses and decanter centrifuges. Our systems enable the volume of the sludge to be efficiently reduced and ensure that the processes we use are both cost-effective and reliable. Depending on the assignment, we also draw up concepts to meet the project’s exact requirements to guarantee efficient dewatering results.
Chamber filter presses are used during the mechanical sludge dewatering process. This technology produces solid filter cake and particle-free filtrate.
Filter surfaces: 60–350m²
Chamber volumes: 0.6-5.0m³
The filter cake is removed with forklift trucks or conveyor belts
Our membrane filter presses are used to generate the highest possible solid content in the filter cake. What’s more, these units can also wash both the filter cake and the sludge to reduce, for example, levels of chloride.
We deploy the following unit sizes and types:
Filter surface: 30-400m²
Chamber volume output: 0.4-6.1m³
Units with pressure & washing plates
Acid-resistant units
Further treatment & loading the material for transport
The recovered liquid is returned to the client for reuse or undergoes further treatment,
e.g. neutralisation.
We offer a variety of methods for moving and storing the solid filter cake to ensure we can meet our clients’ different requirements:
Loading the filter cake into a container using a fork-lift truck or conveyor belt
Moving the filter cake into a bunker prior to loading it onto a lorry
Loading the filter cake straight onto a lorry
Packing the filter cake into big-bags
Equipment design, construction & operations
FILTRATEC currently has more than 30 mobile filter presses in a variety of designs and sizes. What’s more, FILTRATEC has also developed bespoke facilities that it has developed and built itself to meet particular project requirements or customer needs. These include both mobile and stationary units.
How our customers benefit:
Units operated by experienced & trained personnel
Less pressure on their investment budget
Transparent & predictable costs
Greater flexibility
Project engineering
Our bespoke engineering work is a cornerstone of all project planning activities and key to successfully implementing projects.
The project planning phase includes the following services and measures:
Drawing up feasibility studies
Upscaling the lab results to meet the project requirements
Creating basic flow charts & layout plans
Carrying out risk assessments
Compiling project-specific work instructions
Determining the most efficient solutions
Implementing complex filtration concepts
The right technology for each and every assignment
FILTRATEC uses a whole range of different types and sizes of mobile processing tanks – which are also available in a variety of materials:
One & two-chamber systems
With & without mixing equipment
Available in standard steel & stainless steel
Use as mixing, reaction, collection & wastewater tanks
