FILTRATEC Mobile Schlammentwässerung

We use state-of-the-art equipment and experienced personnel to ensure the efficient processing of the sludge dewatering

Sludge dewatering – mobile or stationary

  • Sludge dewatering is primarily concerned with treating industrial sludge using the solid-liquid separation process. Products such as lyes, acids or oils are filtered and oil-water-solid mixtures are decanted. In many cases, mobile sludge dewatering is an essential component of an complex overall concept.

We encounter sludge in various areas of industrial life. The best known is clarification sludge, which accrues while cleaning wastewater. But sludge – or suspensions – also accrue at many other points, e.g.:

    • Through natural precipitation
    • In iron and steel production
    • In the mineral oil industry
    • While cleaning plants with water
    • In tunnel construction
    • In water management
  • From recovering the sludge through the individual treatment and filtration up to the wastewater treatment and solids logistics – We filter for you. Please feel free to get in touch with us!

Solids-fluids separation

  • FILTRATEC treats and filters many kinds of sludge. The goal of sludge dewatering is to achieve separation between the solids and liquids with the aim of volume reduction. In mechanical sludge de-watering, the use of filter presses and decanters has proved itself. FILTRATEC uses various pieces of equipment to accomplish this.

    • Here you'll find everything there is to know about our filter presses

    • To separate combustible or harmful substances, we provide nitrogen covered, mobile gas-tight three phase decanter plants compliant with the ATEX Directive

Flexible, quickly deployable solutions

  • Individual engineering is the supporting pillar of every job preparation and an integral part of realising customer implementation. The project planning phase includes the following services and activities:

      • Determination of the most cost effective solution
      • Reviewing and optimising existing process technologies
      • Writing feasibility studies
      • Implementing complex filtration plants as operational models using pre/basic and detail engineering

Accompanying process monitoring

  • To secure effective process execution, all jobs are accompanied by process monitoring:

    • FILTRATEC performs a regular visual inspection of the separated phases
    • An analytical determination of pH values, TR content, density, etc. is made during each of the treatment stages upon request
  • Three-phase separation between solids, fluids and, for example, oil

Recovery and transportation of the sludge

  • We deploy the most varying types of conveyor machinery – each suited to the area of operation

The basics steps are the recovery and transportation of the sludge. FILTRATEC operates float-ing suction excavators. They can extract sludge below the standing water phase. During this, the sediments are dissolved with cutting tools and are routed to the preparation plant through floating delivery lines.

      • Recovering the sludge – even under water
      • Transfer within the treatment plant
      • Loading the solids/filter cake
      • Discharging the fluid phases

Pretreatment of the sludge

  • Sedimentation tanks for waste-water treatment

  • When necessary, the sludge is first put through a pre-treatment, for example for

    • separation of rough and foreign bodies,
    • prethickening,
    • separation of oil content,
    • heating up.

Depending on the requirements, the sludge/suspensions can also be chemically-physically pre-treated. That is done for

    • decontamination, for instance of cyanide, chrome-VI, hydrogen sulphide,
    • neutralisation of acids and lyes,
    • flocking and precipitation, for instance of heavy metals.

Subsequent treatment and loading/discharging the sludge

  • The processing phases can continue to be used so they have to be suitably subsequently treated:

    • Neutralisation of filter water
    • Exhaust purification through activated carbon filter

The process with the solids or the filter cake usually proceeds as described below:

    • Direct loading into trucks or containers
    • Loading into containers with forklifts or conveyor belts
    • Packing in Big-Bags
  • The resulting liquid phases (oil and water) can then be pumped away as required.

Direct loading of the filter cake

Process engineering laboratory investigations

  • Before deployment, the treatment instructions are worked out in the FILTRATEC process engineering lab. These preparatory measures guarantee a high degree of separation, maximum solids content in the filter cake, and solid-free filtrate:

      • Preparation of treatment instructions
      • Determination of the filter and flocculation additives required
      • Filtration and separation trials
      • Preparation of sieve analyses
      • Determination and documentation of all physical parameters relating to the treatment process
      • Centrifuge trials
      • Project-specific monitoring analyses

Five parts sludge become four parts water which can be passed into the environment, and one part solids

    • For the onsite investigations, we have a mobile laboratory, the so-called Mobile Lab

    • Through the advance process engineering lab trials, you benefit from reduced energy costs

Plant planning, construction and operation

    • FILTRATEC develops individual plants that are built or assembled to meet the customer's specific needs. They can be either mobile or stationary plants. During projects requiring long planning periods and where the use of stationary plants is necessary, the plant is specifically equipped with modular machine technology, e.g. in containers. The customers benefit from:

      • The relief of its own investment budget
      • Operation by experienced and trained personnel
      • Transparent and planable costs
      • High flexibility
    • Stationary or mobile plants from FILTRATEC shorten the setup times and simplify replacement and dismantling.
